Ed Christine lands in Binghamton

In the old news department, Ed Christine is working as news editor at the Press & Sun-Bulletin in beautiful Binghamton, N.Y. Be sure to give him a call next time you're up there taking in a B-Mets game.

Just when you thought Binghamton couldn't get any shittier

He won't last long. He's now a non-person, doomed to wander between shitty jobs.

Good for you Ed! These NEPA losers will leave the Times-Tribune in a pine box because they'll never better themselves. They're a pack of lazy journalistic slobs who wouldn't know a good story if it hit them in the keyboard.

Gosh, why he didn’t last with the AP Sports folks in NY? He is a very scary man who is superb at making people suffer. I can’t imagine that the powers that be in Binghamton will let him stay there long. Then again, it’s a Gannett paper. And the corporate overlords generally don’t take an interest in a property unless it’s either hemorrhaging money or winning some lame Best of Gannett Award. So Ed will probably be left alone to create a painful, dysfunctional environment that drives people out of the Binghamton newsroom faster than they left Scranton. But if his tenure at The Times-Tribune is any indication, there is no logic — and rarely any competence — displayed by newspaper editors making hiring and promotion decisions. So maybe Ed will be there a while.

It looks as if he is basically a city editor. He seems to have a few layers above him. The sports editor has been there forever and probably won't take any crap from him.

Well you know what they say some, shit you just cant flush.Sometimes it just hangs on the rim and then one day its gone.

I wonder if he's still making Brokeback Cowboy jokes, like he was six months after the movie came out and 5 1/2 months after it had gotten old.

The Binghamton folks will keep Christine in his place. Gannett has no patience for people like him. Of course, if he doesn't care about his job, he'll be gone in a few months.

Gee, seems like only yesterday Big Ed was giving us the "inside scoop" on the Super Bowl. I knew this guy wasn't going to last at AP/NY -- the sports boss was a woman. I would have loved to been a fly on the wall when that shit went down.

Hard to believe this guy can still get a job in the newspaper business despite his trail of incompetence, harassment and idiotic behavior. What a freakin' lulu.

Hey, beats working for his wife like at his previous job. Or is it now ex-wife?

Methinks his "doomed to wander between shitty jobs" phase began long before getting hired in Scranton.
